PBA Star Jason Belmonte's Assault on the History Books

Jason Belmonte

Australian bowler Jason Belmonte has made quite a name for himself on the PBA Tour with his unique – and controversial – two-handed bowling style. This month, Jason (also known to his fans as Belmo) is taking aim at putting his name up with the greatest bowlers of all time.

Currently, he trails only bowling legends Earl Anthony and Pete Weber for the most major victories. Earl and Pete each have 10 major wins, while Jason captured his ninth at the conclusion of the 2017 PBA Tour season by winning the PBA Tournament of Champions.

The 2018 Go Bowling PBA Tour season is now underway and Jason has two chances in the month of February to tie and/or exceed the record for major wins in the PBA Tournament of Champions and the Barbasol PBA Players Championship. If he succeeds, he will also set a record for shortest time to reach 10 major titles.

Over the past decade, Jason has become the face of bowling and somewhat of a cultural icon. In honor of his achievements, let’s revisit two of his trick shot videos that have gone viral in recent years. The first, created in 2014 in partnership with Dude Perfect, has been seen over 78 million times. The second, created in 2016, showcases bowling trick shots versus pool trick shots.
