Go Bowling at The Glen, the premier road race on NASCAR’s schedule, took place on August 5 with more than 160,000 fans in attendance in beautiful Watkins Glen, N.Y.
Go Bowling set up fully-operational bowling lanes on the Midway and saw thousands of fans throughout the four-day weekend. More than 3,000 frames were bowled and fans got the chance meet Go Bowling drivers Aric Almirola and Cole Custer, world No. 1 bowler Jason Belmonte and Pin Man!
Go Bowling also unveiled the new Pin Car, a custom bowling-pin shaped car that will soon travel the country promoting bowling.
The race was broadcast on NBC, and the network’s broadcast team stopped by the Go Bowling for a live segment before the race and to visit with fans. Both Kyle Petty and Rutledge Wood received bowling balls specially-designed with their pictures and bowled a few frames too.
Bowling center operators from throughout the country also got to participate in the festivities, serving as grand marshal, pace car rider and honorary starter.
Congratulations to Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliot on earning his first career win, and we look forward to seeing bowlers and fans again at Watkins Glen in 2019.
