Stevie Bowlstar / Friday, September 14, 2018 / Categories: Blog PWBA TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP AND GO BOWLING 250 SHARE THE STAGE AT RICHMOND RACEWAY Before Richmond Raceway’s first-ever NASCAR Playoff Race Weekend gets underway on Sept. 21 with the Go Bowling 250, the top 16 players in the Professional Women’s Bowling Association will battle in the pinnacle event of their season. The PWBA Tour Championship, the final major championship of the 2018 PWBA Tour season, returns to the historic Old Dominion Building for the second consecutive season on Sept. 17-19. The 16-player field for the PWBA Tour Championship is comprised of PWBA members who won a 2018 event and is completed by point earners for the season. The finals will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network on Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET. The field includes the brightest stars on the tour, including top seeds Shannon O’Keefe and Danielle McEwan. O’Keefe is the defending champion, having claimed the 2017 Tour Championship in Richmond. McEwan won the PWBA Fountain Valley Open earlier this year and finished the regular season second on tour in points and third in earnings. Danielle McEwen Shannon O'Keefe Two days after the PWBA Tour Championship, the bowling industry also will be represented on the track as Go Bowling is the entitlement sponsor of the Go Bowling 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoff race, the first-ever playoff race at Richmond Raceway. Go Bowling will open the QubicaAMF championship-caliber lanes to the public on Friday so race fans can come by and bowl a few frames for free. On the track, Go Bowling has sponsored Stewart-Haas driver Cole Custer in the No. 00 Ford Mustang, giving bowling fans a driver to cheer on during the race. Custer enters the Xfinity playoffs in second place among drivers in points and sixth in the playoff standings. He’s posted 10 top-5 finishes in 25 starts this season to make himself one of the favorites for the Xfinity Series championship.
